Re: Put object ON character?

I'd have thought it better to replace the character with an object, if they're dead. Otherwise you need to worry about all the existing character functionality, such as talking to them, giving them things etc. I see your point. But the thing is that the character isn't dead (ie Snowwhite, and Sleep...

Re: Event stopping player movement

Interesting... Thank you, Lazzah.
What if I want the direction north to be blocked, say after a certain number of turns into the event?

Re: Annual IF Comp 2020

That was an interesting review. I am curious to know just how different inform is different to Adrift in terms of general parser as the reviewer mentioned so that we can try and curb some of the differences by expanding some commands to cover what would normally work in Inform as the reviewer menti...

Event stopping player movement

How do I prevent the player from going in a certain direction if an event is running?

Re: Spoiler tag isn't working

I will inform Campbell about the problem.
As for posts regarding the forum, I could ask Campbell if we could set up a thread about the forum. Something in line with what they've got at the IntFiction.

Re: One object in two locations?

Thanks Denk.
I will give it a try and see what comes out of it.
Just for info. I have already made the hole a supporter, hoping that that would solve the problem. Well, it didn't and the board is still only in the location in which is was place on the hole.

One object in two locations?

In short. How do I manage to have one object appear in two locations? In the game, the player is inside a house. There are two locations. A northern corridor and a southern corridor. In order to get from south to north he has to pass over a huge hole in the floor. The hole is easy enough. I have mad...

Re: Annual IF Comp 2020

I'm paying my cover artist(who creates covers from my printed books) $50 and he'd said he'd do it. Normally he charges several times that. $50 is a lot of money, especially if you have a game with a lot of pictures (like D-Day) May I suggest that you check out Freelancer and Fiverr? I have had two ...

Re: Ectocomp 2020

Although I know that one can always plan things in advance ... Write location texts, task responses etc. in advance, I still end up finding myself short of time. I guess I'm just not cut out for these kind of time limit things. Which is why I enjoy playin IF so much. I enjoy the time to sit and thin...

Put object ON character?

I'm looking for a way to be able to put/place an object on a character. The character is now dead and the player will place a flower on her chest to show his respect. I could get around it by moving the character to hidden, and then replace her with an object, but I'm curious to find out if there's ...

Re: Ectocomp 2020

Do they still have the "old" rules for the Ectocomp? like you can only work on your game for a certain time? (I believe it was three hours)

Oh, correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't the Ectocomp an old Adrift "invention"? I seem to remember that it all started here in the forum many, many years ago.
