Re: Adding descriptions when changing rooms

Ahha. Thanks for the info! :Thanks:

I shall just skip that coding project until it is fixed and move on to the next project of many.

Adding descriptions when changing rooms

I want to be able to give a descriptive blurb every time the player moves between rooms. For example: Instead of seeing the generic text output" 'I move north'. I want to be able to change it with something like 'You open the sliding door and step out into the sunny backyard'. I know how to do this ...

Well if that isn't incentive to get back to work on your games I don't know what is!

Re: Oodles of Voters

Maybe the people within the Adrift comminity are more the creator type than the player type? although the people in AIF area seem to manage both quite well  Now that is an interesting idea as well, something I've often wondered about myself. I fall squarely within the 'creator' category. I m...

Re: Oodles of Voters

As the guy whom came in 2nd in that particular comp (under a different pen name and using ADRIFT 4) I have some theories as to that. Mind you, they could be off the mark which is why they are only theories..... 1. The AIF community is down to just ONE competition a year. So lots of excitement can be...

Pilot Officer it is! Sorry about trying to make you a professor.

Re: IFComp 2011

The IFComp 2011 site is now up, so it gives you all the info and deadlines: http://ifcomp.org/ I would definitely like to see 1+ Adrift games in there. I just like to see games from a variety of sources. Very interesting. I'm intrigued. I missed Ectocomp and Prof. Prune's comp because I was working...

Re: New Forum

I need a new code to register Adrift on my new shiny computer.

But I can't seem to find the support email to request it on this new server. I'm sure I'm just missing somewhere?

50 - 50 chance I will have an entry, probably not what you wanted to read.

This is due to the fact all my coding time is taken by a previous comp and that won't be done until mid-May. :oh-no:

Thank for the offer of help Campbell but I have accidentally found out what caused the error. Seems when I try to cut a block of description from the ALR and paste it to a task's restriction text box it jumbles the description up with some symbols in the lines. Then I get the subscript error 9,10 w...

I was working in the Adrift 4.0 generator when I decided to run the game and alpha test the new changes. The runner gave me an error, I don't remember the exact wordings but it was something like: subscript error 9,10 I figured it might be related to the out of memory error so I just closed the run...

Hey,

Guess it depends on the individual operator answering.

On reality shows I frequently hear them answer:

"Nine-one-one, please state your emergency."

Or just,

"Nine-one-one."

Hi folks, Having a problem getting my Adrift 4.0 registered and I'm at my wits end. Wondering if anyone has some suggestions for this: OK, I have Vista. To register with Vista you have to log in as an administrator. So I try and everytime I get these same two error messages and the adrift doesn't g...
