Re: Combined Library Release 2.1 Out
I wasn't inferring that double spacing between lines was currently used unless the author had a reason to do so. I was referring to my school days, some 50 - 60 years ago, before computers, etc. We never used it for writing essays (compositions as they were called then). The only ones who had to wer...

Re: Combined Library Release 2.1 Out
No protests from the Great South Land either. I never encountered 2 spaces between sentences in over 60 years. Now double spacing between lines was something that typewriting required to make things more readable.

Re: Merry Christmas, everyone
Thanks P/o Prune.
I wish the same to you and all our fellow Drifters even the ones we haven't heard from in a while.(Campbell, Saabie, et al) I trust that 2021 will see the shackles of Covid-19 removed and our lives return to a more certain normality.
Stay safe.

Have you looked in the debugger? If so what does it show? Can you share the restrictions/actions of your task?

Re: Mystery Fun House
Yes. I had kissed the ticket lady but I haven't got to the mermaid yet. That response seems pretty tame by today's standards, but back then it was probably as far as Scott was willing to go. After all, most players were kids. (I was too) so authors needed to be careful what they put in games so that...

Re: Annual IF Comp 2020
I haven't checked JaFT, but do you provide a list of known Verbs/Commands at the start? ( I think Lazzah's game does) Then there should be no reason for the player to complain. Unfortunately, the "modern" generation of IF players want everything handed to them on a plate and are not willing to THINK...

Re: Combined Library Release 2 Demo (beta)
Looking good.
Just thought of another synonym for CLIMB - SCALE. As in Scale a wall or scale up/down a cliff, etc.
Otherwise I think you have caught the most common uses and authors can always override the case they need.

Re: Combined Library Release 2 Demo (beta)
In English, CLIMB is a verb that has many ideas attached. (This is speaking as an Australian where we seem to use both British & Americian interchangably ) CLIMB (UP) ladder / tree/ stairs/ rope - all usually mean CLIMB UP. The word UP is optional. CLIMB ON box/table/bed/etc - usually means CLIMB ON...

Re: Serious bug: "Player must have a route available"-restrictions not handled correctly.
I'm not sure what is going on when the 3 direction restrictions are at the top of the list. I don't understand why only 2 of them are checked and some twice. The order of the directions to be checked doesn't matter either. However, if you move one of the variable checks up in amongst the directions,...

Re: Serious bug: "Player must have a route available"-restrictions not handled correctly.
Should your last AND in your restrictions be an OR.
Currently I would think this restriction should fail as it is impossible to have TestVariable equal to 1 and 3 simultaneously.
I haven't tried your example yet to see.

Re: Making my collection available for everyone
No idea if I ever kept this. Most games are available on IFDB though and there will quite a few created in the last 4-5 years. Try looking there. You can search extensively for genres you are interested in.
