I agree. It is similar to how our parents never understood The Beatles or Rolling Stones. :haha:
Well, if it is so radical guess it isn't for me then. :?

Re: 5.0.36 out now

Well, I can now longer download Adrift from this site without the anti-virus going mad. Also my hosting company are complaining about viruses, when I try and put a copy on my site.

Re: Ectocomp 2020

Do they still have the "old" rules for the Ectocomp? like you can only work on your game for a certain time? (I believe it was three hours) Oh, correct me if I'm wrong. But isn't the Ectocomp an old Adrift "invention"? I seem to remember that it all started here in the forum many, many years ago. I...

Re: Suggestion re. Adrift main-site and Forum breakdown

If you guys are interested I will set up a group mail and if/when something like this happens again I will send e-mails explaining the situation and what's being done about it and when the error has been corrected. :anyone: Sounds a brilliant idea, means we aren't in the dark about what is going on...

David Whyld wrote:If you were the player and you got sent right back to the start of the game when you had almost finished it, would you think it was a good idea?
It would depend on how well signposted it was or whether it fits with the game. Might feel like a sudden death otherwise.

David Whyld wrote:That explains it. There was no way I'd ever have been able to convince my parents to buy me a computer that was over four times as expensive as a Commodore, and on pocket money I certainly couldn't have afforded it myself.
I'm sure a Speccy was about £130 or so with games around £5 to £10.

David Whyld wrote:Honestly, I never played any of them. Were they more an American thing because I played a lot of games back but don't ever recall seeing them around?
I'm with David on this one. I was a big Adventure game player during the 80's. Don't remember coming across any of these titles.

Re: Click if you have NO IDEA how to play a parser IF game

(Just stay away from the ones that say "AIF", or you will go to Hell.) Thanks for...

Re: Pausing macro?

Unfortunately, the copying and pasting doesn't work in v5 because even after all these years, it still doesn't support multiple commands on the same line (a feature which v4 had from day one). If Campbell ever works on it again, that's one of the first things he should fix. Hate to haave to agree w...
