The big trick with ADRIFT is in that it is quite flexible in what you can do (albeit, a bit buggy in places). The name not showing up (or showing as "you") is most likely because of the "Is the Character Known to the Player Character" checkbox. Or maybe it's something else. What is the EXACT code you have in your user function to show the name (and the result)?

It depends a lot on how you want to go about it. Since generally we would want to refer to the character by just their "first" or "common" name, I've left the "Name" variable as just that - the character's common name - what they like to go by. I haven't tried this, but... I suspect that it might work. Or... it could make the Adrift system freak out and explode, so back-up your game first. This idea is going to capitalize on the bug that makes Modules tricky to make at this point - where it exports superfluous data that needs to be removed...

But if the player types something else then there is no easy way to go back and ask them to try again. This is one of the reasons that I'm considering using conversation as options - since a wildcard can loop them back and reask. (I think - again, I'm only just starting to play with that). Thinking...

Most of them appear in various Alternative Description boxes throughout the standard library, but that one isn't. Of course, that drives my inner Grammar Nazi crazy.

Take a look at my dynamic descriptions example near the bottom of this thread . The trick in there is that your arrays in ADRIFT start at 1 not 0 - so read through my comments to understand how to do the math. The magic all comes down to division.
