Re: Writing the transcript first
I have an outline, but write the actual text when I get to it. For me it works much more smoothly. There are a few things I don't want to forget, like puzzle ideas and certain dialogue from characters, and I keep them on a notepad file just so I don't forget or neglect them

Re: Reset Variables?
I just thought up a trick to "manipulating" Turns variable, without doing so. 1) Create a variable, name it %TurnsAlt%, or something. Set it to Zero. 2) At the time you want the turns to be reset, set it to the value of %Turns% 3) Whenever you want to refer to turn number, use %Turns% minus %TurnsAl...

Re: Player Char takes object too easily
Your advice resolved the issue easily. I never got to thank you. Life happened. But it worked and I appreciate it. Thanks. My coding may be a little sloppy to you guys who may understand programming better than I, but hopefully this project, and your help, makes me better skilled in future projects.

Re: Player Char takes object too easily
Here is the text from the debugger. The pliers are on the vending machine but aren't supposed to be reached unless 1) the player noticed that the pliers were on the machine, 2) The recliner is pushed against the machine, 3) the character is standing on the machine. I tried putting extra tasks in whi...

Player Char takes object too easily
I have a problem that didn't exist before and now it does. I was playtesting my game, and there is an object that requires several restrictions to be passed before it can be taken from another object. in earlier playtests, ADRIFT wouldn't let the object be taken, but now, on my new computer, it does...

Re: Containers can held over the max items!?
This is a bug. There's a thread on the forum where I asked this question. The solution was a little tricky so I don't remember what it is, but it is solvable. Can someone here post the thread that addresses the bug?

Re: still here
I had no access to my .taf file but I was able to retrieve it from the old computer. I made an online backup of it and will make regular hard copies until it's completed, just to be safe.

I don't think box.com has the feature you seek. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Re: my games
I'd like to try both games, #1 because I like science fiction, and #2 because I like entire games that take place in a building. Especially Hotels (like Leisure Suit Larry 6)
