Re: Space Tourist help - I have gotten about half the points

It's been a while, but you need to find another way to distract the maid from her task. Do you have anything you could use with the vacuum cleaner? Have you tried dropping things on the floor beside the vacuum cleaner? Things that might clog the cleaner? Things like mud.

You can do this in ADRIFT 4, but it requires two tasks per object per player. There is a demo you can download from the site, should you for any reason not wish to use ADRIFT 5.

Since I've been prodded, I can confirm that all my WiPs are trundling along slowly, City probably meandering slightly quicker than the others, though it is still having to weave its way through the mess that actual real life creates.

ADRIFT is worse, as a system, ralphmerridew is correct. I will continue to use it, because I can't programme and therefore it, and it alone, affords me the opportunity to write IF (albeit very, very slowly), and I am grateful. The majority, though not all, of the flaws can be worked around. This is...

Not sure what the problem is but I always struggled to make the automatic walk interactions work properly. You can use tasks and events instead, e.g. Have a task called #EACH TURN. Make it repeatable. Have an event called EACH TURN. Have it last one turn and repeat itself. Set the event to run the ...

I am also not dead and am also suffering from real life, which is currently prohibiting me from progressing any of the part-games I have written.

Disappointed to see Make it Good come away with nothing. Though I enjoyed Alabaster and Broken Legs, I'm not a big fan of Blue Lacuna.

Delayed congratulations on the nomination Duncan, btw.

If you let the pc name other characters, you'll need to create custom tasks for character interactions - i.e. x character won't work unless you create a specific task for it.

This thread and also this thread have some background.

Oh, and this thread.

I struggle with this - finding the balance between telling the on-the-rails story I want to unfold, and giving the player freedom to influence and direct the action. With three distinct approachs you either have to write three equal arcs, hope the game has sufficient replay value for people to come...
