Open for entries from today through December 10th. (Edit: Extended through the weekend; Sunday, December 13th, for those who need it)
Rules:
Pair up each one of these numbers: 2, 4, 8, 12, and 14, with one of these: rooms, objects, tasks, events, and characters, and have and use exactly the particular number you chose of each in the game; no more, no less. (For example, you could have 12 tasks, 14 objects, 2 characters, 8 rooms, and 4 events.)
Variable amounts are not restricted.
You may use the ALR any way you want to, with the exception of simulating a higher amount of rooms, objects, or characters than the number you chose of each. However, you can, of course, use it to change something like “You see no such thing” to be more applicable to your game.
You may enter up to two games, if you'd like to.
All entries must be sent to abbi@park.tc by December 13, 2009. If you choose to have a password on your game, I’ll need you to send that to me when you send in your game so I can quickly verify the number of objects, etc. (Also, it's not required, but please include hints and/or a walkthrough with your game in case anyone gets stuck.)
Prizes will be awarded in the form of either an Amazon gift certificate or through Paypal; specific amounts to be determined based on the number of entries.
Voting length and procedures will be decided and stated once I have uploaded the games to be played.
Thank you for taking the time to read the rules, and now I/we can look forward to the results!
Any questions or comments are welcome here or by email.
I'm doing this. I've been a little dead on the IF front (not able to make it for the Ectocomp thanks to school) but since the semester is winding down and I've finished my NaNoWriMo novel I think I will make my next goal in life to enter this competition. I've already got an idea for the game and four days to make 40 things in the Generator between bouts of studying for finals, so why not?
And boy, will I be embarrassed if I don't make it.

Works in progress (estimated release): Forest House Trilogy (Summer 2011), Tenebrae Semper (Fall 2011), Castle Hyperion (Summer 2012)
Yeah, I figured it would be OK since it wasn't explicitly banned. I meant more for overriding standard responses for actions using the ALR, which could be construed as extra tasks. Just didn't want to do it and get disqualified.
