Avoiding GET ALL for hidden dynamic objects

Postby Denk » Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:59 pm

Often, it is practical to make hidden objects static, so they are not mentioned or taken when typing GET ALL and they are not listed in the location description. If the player then is told about the hidden object, e.g. after examining another object, the static object should be replaced with a dynamic one, which can be taken.

However, there might be situations where the author prefers that the dynamic object is present from the beginning, though it should not be listed when typing LOOK and it should not be mentioned or taken with the command GET ALL.

To avoid the dynamic object to be listed you just have to tick the object property "Specifically exclude object from location descriptions".

And to avoid GET ALL taking or mentioning the hidden dynamic object, you need one task, as demonstrated in the demo below.

If GET ALL should work for the hidden object, later on, you need one more task. This is also shown in the demo.
