Character functions Popup list?

Does this still work? i've never tried it before. But if i type %character%. in the message to display on completion box i get nothing. I was expecting a popup menu with a list displaying functions as shown in the wiki screen shot. But nothing happened. Am i doing something wrong?

It still works for me in 5.0.23
I have just noticed that it is case sensitive though, so if you type %Character% or %CHARACTER% it doesn't work.
