Hi all, only me...

I would like to change this white location text to black and change the font and size too?
This does not work in the standard libary LOOK:

%Player%.<font color=black>Location</font>.Description

Any ideas?

Thank you and much love.

Hi PhatDriver,

You do not do this in the LOOK task, you apply all HTML codes in the long description box for that particular location.

Hi Lazzah,

Yeah thanx but is there no way to do it globally.
I have to do that for every single location in the game?

Could I do it with:
Alternate Colour: <c></c>
That would make life a lot easier.

Ah, if you want to do it for the whole game, you should click on "Home" on the developer taskbar and then click on "Options". On the first tab you can select the colours you want the background and text to be.

WARNING: Many players have their own, often quite bizarre colour schemes for when they play games, which they set via the ADRIFT Runner settings and this will override what the author has set as his preferred colour scheme. This is very often because the player has seeing difficulties and they set the colours which suits them the best. I put a disclaimer on the Options page of my games informing the player that I set my games to be played cyan text on a black background and if they set it to something different they may have difficulty reading the text.

You can't put font tags in the middle of a function. That should be:
adrift Code: Select all
 <font color=black>%Player%.Location.Description</font>

But that changes the color of both the short and long description.
If %Player%.Location.LongLocationDescription only printed the long location description then you could do them in different colors, but at the moment it does the same as %Player%.Location.Description and prints both.

To avoid having to edit every location you could use
adrift Code: Select all
<font color=black>%Player%.Location.Description
in the LOOK command text box (without the </font> tag) and then put the </font> tag in the short location description property of the [Everywhere] group. (set to "Append this to previous")
