ADRIFT keeps shouting at me !

Postby rovarsson » Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:30 pm

And I've had enough of it. So I'm spending this nice sunday evening digging through the standard library to replace every agressive "!" with a more civil "." .

It really breaks my good mood when I innocently try picking something up and the game shouts: "You can't take the hairy frog!" .

I thought of overrides, but since I don't picture myself thinking "Hey, I'd like to yell at the player in my next game," I decided to remedy the problem at the source.

You can use a specific task for that. Or, use text overrides.

Think you could share your library once you've finished?

All you need to do is create a single text override that replaces every ! with a .

The problem there is that you might want to include an exclamation mark at some point and instead it'll come out with a full stop.

ADRIFT was in a bad mood after I messed with its exclamation marks! It didn't want to open my last version.
I did a few other things in that programming session so I'm not sure what the problem was, but I resorted to overrides.
