"He Ignores You" help?

Postby Samkid882 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 5:49 pm

Whenever I add a new topic for a conversation, it always ends as "He ignores you" What am I doing wrong? Here's what I type in.
%CharacterName% says "Hello"

and then it says "He ignores you" when I run the game! Please help ASAP!

Is this used as a task for all your characters in the game?

You didn't tell us what sort of conversation it was, what keywords you use, where you wrote %CharacterName% says "Hello", or what command you entered when you ran the game.

The command I entered was "Say Hello"
It said "He says 'Hello'" but then says "He ignores you". This is a major problem because all child topics are not allowed if you are ignored. Say, if one child topic to Hello was What is your name? it would say "He ignores you", without saying the proper conversation description.

It might be because Conversation actions aren't fully implemented yet.

To workaround this, I generally just check "Is character known to PC" and use the "ask" feature. I don't worry about introductions right now.

There are two types of introduction, passive and active, depending on whether you also tick "General Command".
A passive intro (only introduction ticked) is meant to be shown in addition to another conversation topic.
So if you trigger an ask, tell, or say (general command), then the passive intro will be shown followed by the text of the second topic.
For "say hello" you should instead use an active introduction:
Tick both "introduction" and "general command".
Set the command field to "[hello/hi] {there}".

I tried adding this introduction to one of my characters and it worked for me.
You didn't type the quote marks into the command field did you? It should just be whats inside the quote marks,
[hello/hi] {there}
