NPC problem

I’m in kind of a fix here. SoC have been tested and is ready for release but there’s one thing stopping me.
I’m not sure if it’s a bug or I have done something wrong here but the thing is that the alternate message when a NPC leaves and enters a location isn’t triggered when it’s supposed to.
In the beginning of the game the default message: Megan enters with the tour party, or Megan escorts the tour party off, is displayed whenever she enters or leaves a location where the player is present.
But at some point the player will have to tell her something which will make her follow him/her. So in conversation I’ve created a topic “Tell Megan about Merlin” with the action executing task [Megan follow player] which then should trigger the alternate message when she enters or leaves a location.
The task is triggered since she follows the player but for some reason the default text is still displayed.
Suggestions anyone? (I’m going crazy here!) :x :P
