POINTS
Re: POINTS
Actually 25 was the figure I first thought of and then decided to boost it up in order to see if I could attract any other discussion.

To be awarded when a working contribution is uploaded?

The runner will earn you 50 points, and my eternal gratitude.saabie wrote:Adding ADRIFT 5 support to a general-purpose IF runner like Gargoyle or Floyd could be a google points and writing a whole new runner system could be a googleplex of points.
I might even consider erecting a statue in mt garden of you, riding on Campbell's shoulders (Horses are extremely expensive you know.)

5000 points, don't be stingy.
Re: POINTS
Lumin....
Just noticed that you have now 1836 posts to your credit...
The same year as the Battle at the Alamo... Maybe I should throw a few points your way for this incredibly effort?
Problem is though that when you answer this your posts will be 1837 and then what?

Re: POINTS
Ok, guys, what do you think.
I know this point thingy isn't all that important but I have just thought of something.
If an author release a game s/he earns 5 points. If an author enters a competition, ie. IF Comp, the author gets 20 points.
Should the 5 points for releasing a game be included in the 20 points for entering a competition?

Re: POINTS
I'd probably award both, 5 points for releasing a game and 20 for entering it in the comp.
Re: POINTS
There's only two major comps a year so a 5 point bonus isn't going to hurt.
And points aren't important? What kind of attitude is that? We need to instill the idea that points are THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THERE ARE!
They indicate both your passion for Adrift and worth as a human being.

Re: POINTS
Isn't this a total pain to maintain? I should think it would be possible to automate much of it, similar to the way the awards and average rating works.

It's not so bad if people remember to let me know when games are uploaded to the main site. I update the point section once a week (Sunday)Campbell wrote:Isn't this a total pain to maintain? Other than that I keep an eye out for other improvements.

Yes, but I've probably lost most of that with my recent absence.
