I need the name of the wooden structure where the cannon is mounted. (see picture)
Any suggestions?

I believe it is called a limber. (my dictionary defines it as 'the detatchable front part of a gun-carriage) from the french limoniere - a cart with shafts.

Maybe the arrow is misleading. What I'm looking for is the name of the wooden structure that the gun is positioned on... Gun Carriage 8)

I think it is called the gun carriage.
Currently working on "The Blank Wall" in ADRIFT 5 and "Again and Again" in Inform 7.
