This is competition is open to all game types and includes text adventures. The game must be an adventure and that's about it as far as rules, with the exception you cannot start working on making the game until May 4th, but you can work on story and plan it etc. There are no prizes, but could be an opportunity to show off Adrift if a couple of Adrift games were entered into it.

Here are the judging categories; (i think there is an overall ranking of number of votes your game gets at the end as well)

Best Visuals
Best Music
Best Sound Design
Best Voice Acting
Best Storytelling
Best Dialogue
Best Gameplay
Best Characters
Best Puzzles or Minigames

Adrift isn't listed in the suggested resources for game engines under Text Adventures, but i have email them suggesting it.

I am thinking of entering it. I missed it last year.

What is the status on being able to upload an Adrift game and play it online? is it currently working? as that might be an easier option for players to try my game. Is there a link with more information about how to set that up etc?

Just tried and it still looks like online isn't working. You will have to ask Campbell for the code and then have a server to run it on. No where near as simple as it is with an I7 game.

This gameJam starts up today if anyone here had been thinking about it. The official website linked in OP has a countdown to when it starts.
I'm entering into it. Have been working on a game idea for last couple of weeks.
Also regarding hosting Adrift games online, I've contacted Campbell and he is going to look at getting the webRunner back up and running, make sure it works etc.
