The Challenge:
Time for a new competition... Jeez.. am I an optimist? :p
But this time every body can participate...
Schedule:
March 22: Unreg. Comp. 2011 Officially opens.
April 22: Deadline for entries.
April 23 - 30: Evaluation & Voting (Can be extended depending on the entries)
April 30 (11:59pm) Deadline for voting:
May 1st: Winner is announced.

Rules for this competition:
* The author must use Adrift Version 4.0 unregistered or registered or even V.5 if you dare.
* All entries must be accompanied by a walk-through. It can be a simple transcript from the runner. This must give the text that will allow a player to complete the game, from beginning to end, following the details given.
* File sizes are unlimited
* Games may be pass worded, but the organizer prefers them not to be so that others can learn from the techniques used.
* Games must not contain content of an offensive adult nature.
* Games should be completely original work, although parody is allowed.
* No more than one entry will be accepted from each contributor.
* There must be at least three entries or the competition is void.

* 1 Secret passage.
* 2 endings
* 3 ways of dying (but keep it fair!)
* 3 NPC's (active NPC's)
* 5 objects that is essential for solving the game
* 8 Room game

Prize: 50 USD, paid through paypal
Choose one of the three settings: Past (At leat 100 years) Present or future (at least 100 years)

Send your master piece to: Rosenloev dot 1 at gmail.com

Edit:
Pls. note that there has been a couple of changes.
Due to the limitations of the unreg version of Adrift I have lowered the number of NPC's to 3
Also, I have removed the rather confusing statement in the beginning, regarding the number of rooms and objects.
Thanks to Adrifste for pointing out the mishaps.

My project is underway, if you can say that. It has approximately 110 rooms right now (you'll see how that's relevant once I get the game out). The whole story practically fills the entire criteria of the competition if it goes the way I've planned, so people, you have competition. GET TO IT!

What about you, David, are you planning on joining the competition? ;)

Would crack smoking and dead prostitutes make it "offensive adult nature" even if there's no sex or swearing in the game?

I find crack smoking completely inoffensive as long as the smoker is not a soothsayer of any sort.

Pull up your pants and quit farting. :haha:

BTW, I am trying to come up with a game - still wrapping around the "rules" and determining what I want to accomplish.

50 - 50 chance I will have an entry, probably not what you wanted to read.

This is due to the fact all my coding time is taken by a previous comp and that won't be done until mid-May. :oh-no:

I'm working on it...it's a different IF than my main one and is made just for the contest in 4.0 (to keep it simple for myself). If it's too buggy I won't enter it, but I should have enough time... I don't expect to win, but I like having deadlines...and it's good practice for me so I don't get in too deep too early on my longer game.
