Nickydude's Writing Challenge

Welcome to the Writing Challenge. The idea here is to be able to come up with a believable and interesting description for a location that has been given to you by somebody else, complete with objects, normal or otherwise! Here's an example location with objects:

Location: Bathroom
Contains: bath, sink, taps, cabinet <containing various>, shower, toilet, shower curtain, rubber duck, toy submarine, old peddle bike, squeaky floorboard, reading material and magnifying glass.

You could come up with something like:

The spiders seem to have taken over the bathroom and have coated it with the gossamer threads of their webs. The shower curtain now hangs limply from one ring and the shower itself merely sputters pathetically at attempts to turn it on. Similar attempts with the sink taps are rewarded with nothing more than a few dusty coughs. Above the washbasin is a cabinet that has sadly lost the mirrored door and now openly shows off the rusty razor and cloudy glass it contains.

For some reason a battered old pedal cycle, the rubber of its tyres perished, is stood in the bath amongst the rubber duck and toy submarine, it's periscope snapped off and lying forlornly. On the floor, beside the disgustingly unhygienic toilet, is a folded newspaper topped with a magnifying glass that highlights the ringed advertisement for a Spanish apartment, which explained why your uncle left this place.

You make a mental note that, apart from removing the grime, you are going to have to fix that damned annoying squeaky floorboard in the doorway.

Rules
Ok, you may be able to come up with some fantastic descriptions, but there are rules to follow :p

This is meant to be a Room Description for a playable game and not part of a story so take care when writing your description.

You must include ALL the objects mentioned in the Contains: part in a convincing manner (unless otherwise indicated) although you can add any other objects if you wish, for instance, if the Contains: part includes something like: fish [dead / alive], you MUST describe dead fish as well as alive ones.

The description must include the objects in a convincing manner, not like the following:

You are in a bathroom, there is a bath with shiny taps and a shower curtain, the bath contains a rubber duck and a toy submarine. There's an old bike in the corner and a squeaky floorboard. Also here is a magazine and a magnifying glass.

Absolutely no swear words or sexual references.

You can have as many descriptions as you like but you must state which one (and only one) you want to enter for the challenge! :D

At the start of each second month, a poll will appear for you to vote for your favourite location description.

Any other rules that come into force as the challenge goes on.

And there you go! I wish you all luck, and may the best man / woman / animal / inanimate object win!!

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE GENERAL DISCUSSIONS THREAD AT THE END OF THE FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH AND THE WINNER CAN CHOOSE THEIR OWN WRITING CHALLENGE LOCATION.
