Just a general announcement... looks like there are some duplicate files in the comp... "Dish Duty" & "Yon Castle." I checked on my file & it looks like they both seem alright, so it shouldn't matter which you play, but I don't know about Yon Castle.

haha... well, I've been working on a lot of games for quite some time now that needed a little airing out... Dung Beetles in particular I started... I want to say three years ago. I've been working on To End All Wars since watching All Quiet On the Western Front last summer. "Dish Duty," on the other hand, is new & I have no excuse for it.

At any rate, I think one of the refreshing things about IntroComp for me has been (other than practicing literary hooks) the opportunity to take a couple quite rough drafts of games, originally riddled with sprawl problems, and to cut them down and polish them over. Good times.

Open question: What do you think is accounting for the disparity in the number of votes games have at the moment? Is it just the order in which people are playing the games?

I voted on everything, I may have been a bit harsh, but I was racing through all the entries with a pretty merciless attitude... any delay or block in progress and it was "Discard... onto the next one."

No author should run out and slash their wrists based on my comments... gee, I didn't even submit an entry myself

With the chance of being accused of bitching, I must say that I'd rather saw that you hadn't voted.
If you don't have the time to thoroughly go through the entries I feel you shouldn't vote at all.
I know that my game "Through TIme" isn't the best of them (not yet anyway ) but to give it a rating of ”Run a mile if this ever becomes a full game” is not fair, especially not if you judge it by getting a runtime error which can hardly be the games fault.
I hope you'll play the finished version anyway, once it's being released.

I've played all of the games (except The Magician's Niece - I'll be playing that next) and I'm in the process of writing up my thoughts for each game.

I've decided not to score the games. I decided a while ago not to score games that are in a comp I have entered.

With the chance of being accused of bitching, I must say that I'd rather saw that you hadn't voted.
If you don't have the time to thoroughly go through the entries I feel you shouldn't vote at all.
I know that my game "Through TIme" isn't the best of them (not yet anyway ) but to give it a rating of ”Run a mile if this ever becomes a full game” is not fair, especially not if you judge it by getting a runtime error which can hardly be the games fault.

Alas, one of the risks when putting a game into a compettion is that players like me, (with a one second attention span,) will bumble along and give it a low rating...

Unfortunately you can't just accept the people who give you a high rating and discount the others rofl , you have to take the high scores with the low scores...
