Events Problem

I have created an event and when the event completes an object (a ball) is placed in the players hands. If I then type X BALL the game responds with "You see no such thing." every time until I check my inventory with "i" and then when I "X BALL" it gives me the correct response.

Is this a bug in version 4????

Another problem I have encountered with a similar event, this time placing A PACKAGE in the player's hands, is that the object isn't actually placed in the player's hands! The event completes with the correct message but when I check my inventory the player is carrying nothing.

What has happened to my package?!

I've have used this feature in my V4 games so not sure what is going on with your game. If you move the object with a task after the event completes, does that work?
Currently working on "The Blank Wall" in ADRIFT 5 and "Again and Again" in Inform 7.
