I'm having trouble getting the referenced text variable to work the way i want.
No doubt i'm doing it wrong...

I am trying to setup a task, or something, that will display the word typed in by the user.

I tried using %text% in the task message, but it shows nothing.

I tried using the task to assign the %text% to a variable and them display that... but still no go. :(

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try this very brief demo (V4) it should be self explanatory. You just enter type and whatever you want

My game the virtual human operates on tasks like that almost exclusively. Uses a lot of changing variables to Referenced text and responding with them. It is not password'd, so feel free to take a look.

Lemme know if that's helpful.

Thanks guys, i knew i'd done it wrong.

I was using the * as the task, thinking it would automatically populate the %text% variable. :oh-no: rofl
