Sprite, I'm starting to worry about you... going around looking for old threads that you can follow up on? Really, dear. Tell me the truth... are you dealing with a posting disorder? If so, help is available, but the first step is admitting that you have a problem...

COMPLETED! Look for a release soon: "It's Easter, Peeps!" [21 kB] :D

Also in progress: "A Ragamuffin's Sojourn" [28 kB] in Jon Ingold's AdventureBook

Also, also in progress: Something I7-ish...

Hey! Don't tell her that. If we all get treatment the forum will die.

David Whyld wrote:Depends what you mean by attributes. If you define various states for an object under the Attributes tab and "Object starts off in state", you can use a task to change the state of the object. You could have a drawer that was 'fine', 'broken' or 'battered' and change the state of it with the task.

There is another way, (sorry about the lateness of this reply, but I'm new, bored and reading some old stuff).

In your alr file include the following.

table0|A very nice antique mahogany end table.
table1|A shattered and broken mahogany end table.

use for the object description table%table%

Then in your task #break table have the action "Change variable to exact value 1

That way once the task has been run when you look at the table it will give the alternate description. You can also use this with bothe player and character descriptions to change what they are wearing, hair style, and just about anythign else you want to change.

Departed, I think. Maybe one Adrift game was all she had in her.

Never appeal to a mans "better nature". He may not have one. Invoking his self-interest gives you more leverage.

This topic is a gold mine. I wish I would've stumbled upon this before writing half of my game. Now comes the very fun task of re-doing everything simply for the added organization and removal of millions of
tags. Yay.

Reasons why I take a few eternities to release a game...
Released adventures :
- A Witch Tale (OddComp)

Currently working on :
- The Lighthouse (a horror story collaboration with Quantumsheep)
- A Witch Tale (expanded version)
- Clepsydra
