So....the site?

Is it just gone?

Looked like the forum had vanished earlier today too and we were panicking in the Discord a little. So I'm relieved this is still here at least, although I don't know how viable this is going to be in the long run if the site itself is dead.

At least between Delron and the IFDB all the games should be safe....although I guess that's it for online play of this is really it.

According to whois, the registration for the hostname hasn't changed, so at least it's not a case of domain name squatters.

My guess is that Campbell let the payment for hosting slip, but he still controls the name.

I think this has happened before (something similar at least) but the site came back, so hopefully Campbell will sort it out soon.

The forum itself is still down by the way for anyone using https instead of http. Some browsers default to that (I was told http is older and less secure) so there might be regulars that can't find their way back here unless they think to change it.

Denk, while you're talking to him, Mazdark was asking if it was possible to get the code for the forum and the DB with it? He could replicate it on the same server his back up online play thing is on so if anything happened to this place permanently we'd still have an archive.

I will ask him - hopefully he will reply. :)

Thanks!

We're tossing around a few ideas in the Discord right now for a bit more involvement/organization on the community side of things. Right now we have a backup site for games and a backup server, so even in a worst case scenario it wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's everybody just acting alone without a lot of communication or coordination right now.

A little update on the Adrift website.
Denk has been in touch with Campbell, and received this reply.

"Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for letting me know. I got in touch with my hosting provider, and they had done an update on their systems and messed up my websites. They’ve raised it as an urgent issue, so hopefully will be up again soon.
Cheers,
Campbell"

Fingers crossed.

And then my site, Delron, goes down! It must be catching. Thanks Lumin for the heads up.
