I had a quick count of ADRIFT games created over the years by version, as listed on my
Delron ADRIFT games page .
I posted one of these a couple of years ago and thought I'd bring it up to date. The numbers do include AIF games.

But it's a little discouraging to see how the amount of games are going down.
D-Day in progress 86Kb (Slowly drifting)
October 31st: 60Kb (possible entry for IFComp 2021
)

ADRIFT 5 doesn't gave the same kind of appeal that 4 did. Until that changes I don't see more people using it.
It also has a lot more competition than 4 did. 4's only real competition was Quest, but 5 has Inform and Twine to contend with.

Do you think that Twine is as dynamic as ADRIFT? I've been wanting to write text adventures, and a friend told me he used Twine in school to write on for class. I tried it but found it not very capable, so I sought out another and that's how I found ADRIFT.

I like Twine myself but it's aimed at creating CYOA-style games whereas ADRIFT is aimed at parser games.
