Windows Fonts

Postby Lazzah » Thu Jun 16, 2016 5:32 am

Hi all,

This isn't an ADRIFT-specific question, although it is affecting my games.

Does anyone know if different versions of Microsoft Windows 7 will have different fonts to others. I just got a new PC which runs Window 7 Professional. In a couple of my games I had set fonts to depict handwriting in messages using the "Lucida Handwriting Italic" font which was on my laptop at home and at work (running Windows 7 Enterprise). However, this font, and a couple of others I had used in games, is not present on my new PC.

I would have thought fonts were standard across all versions of Windows 7?

Can anyone advise?

"Lucida Handwriting Italic" is not on the list of fonts supplied with Xp, vista, 7 or 8 that are listed on microsofts site at http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/product.aspx?PID=161
The only Lucida on the list are Lucida Console and Lucida Sans Unicode.
Any software you install on your computer can add extra fonts.
Most computers accumulate more and more fonts over time.

Thanks for clarifying that, saabie.
