I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but Quest kicked off their annual comp over at http://blog.textadventures.co.uk/2013/0 ... es-are-in/ today

Anyone recognise the name of the first entrant?

Should we? Seeing as the name of the game is "Worship the Pig", "Heal Butcher" is probably NOT his/her real name...although I think there may be some connection there? :)

I just had an online play of this game. Interesting: it has point 'n' click menus for key words in the text. Your inventory includes "eyeballs" and if you click on those you get the option to "use" them, which when you click on that produces the response "Look again at your surroundings", and you click on "Look" which is just as it says.

I found myself in front of the Main Gates of a city and one of the two choices that came up was "Yell At" (Main Gate). This produced the response "The Main gate is unimpressed."

Ahem, I think I will stick to ADRIFT.......!

Heal Butcher is a former drifter from way back.

And I'm not saying the games will be any good (on the whole, games written with Quest are the worst IF games around), just figured I'm mention they had a comp going.

I'm always glad to see Heal Butcher around. Quite an original artist. I haven't had a chance to play through Worship the Pig entirely, but what I've seen doesn't feel as surreal as some previous stuff. Freaking "Silk Noil" was like an acid trip... delightfully defamiliarizing use of language and imagery. Pretty sure I've reviewed Heal Butchers ADRIFT stuff already. Eventually I'll have to get around to Worship the Pig!

Has anyone completed it? Any thoughts?
