New conversion: The Royal Puzzle

Postby Denk » Thu Mar 02, 2017 12:10 pm

Hi all,

I have now uploaded The Royal Puzzle to the games section (http://www.adrift.co/game/1478). The Royal Puzzle is one of the most famous puzzles in interactive fiction. People tend to either love it or hate it. If you have never played it, give it a try.

The game is an ADRIFT conversion of The Royal Puzzle contained in the game ZORK from 1979, also known as Dungeon. Later on the puzzle was included in Zork III.

One of Zork III's challenges, the Royal Puzzle, is often singled out as Infocom's hardest. [Nick Montfort]

For this reason a hint sheet is available here: http://www.emsolutions.dk/adrift/RoyalPuzzleHintSheet.txt

Finding the minimum number of moves required to solve it was a popular pastime among dedicated Zorkers for a while. [Tim Anderson & Stu Galley]

For this reason the game contains a high score list which will be updated whenever people send in their high score (fewest number of moves).

Hope some of you like it :)
