Six Silver Bullets

A forum where new and old games can be reviewed - an alternative to the reviews on the Adventures page of the main ADRIFT site. Also the place to ask for any assistance if you are stuck playing a particular game.

Six Silver Bullets

Post by The0didactus »

Announcing my next game, which will be submitted to IFCOMP 2018.

This will be something of a rush-job. I hope to have it done by August.
It will be smaller than Tingalan, and much more like a traditional text-based adventure game.
Just like Tingalan, I made a "cover image"

This is absolutely fabulous....
Wishing you all the luck in the world.
I'm planning on entering the IF Comp 2018 too. So that will be at least 2 games so far...
(A little hint to the rest of you drifters out there, perhaps? )

Hope you get the game finished - we need more ADRIFT games in the major comps.

I am (miraculously) on schedule to complete this project by mid-september.

Attached are some (very slight) spoilers showcasing the central mechanics

Well ADRIFT-ers, the game is nearly complete (And only a few weeks behind schedule!)

I need 2-3 playtesters. You will be playtesting on a very tight deadline: I will not be able to send the game out until the 14th of September, and you will have to be completely done with testing by the 21st, to give me a week to implement changes and upload the game.

Hope you're up for it!

Hey congrats... :thanks:

May I suggest that you also try intfiction.org
Make sure to tell them that the game is for the annual IFComp 2018.
I did that, and found a volunteer within a couple of days.

Six Silver Bullets has entered beta, with a little less than 2 weeks before the contest.

Awesome to hear and good luck with the contest. I've been really looking forward to this.

Not actually going to be around my computer much till next Sunday or else I'd volunteer for testing.

Six Silver Bullets had it's first "winner" today. Someone out there figured out how to beat the game. Frankly I thought it would take a lot longer, but I'm thrilled someone figured out a plot twist and resultant puzzle that I've had bouncing around my brain for over a decade and a half.

Someday soon I'll post the names of the first five people who figured it out on my website.

For now, congrats Martin :bravo:

A big Congrats from here too.
You're going out on a limb creating the games that you are. But it's nice to see Adrift being used in other ways thatn the "traditional" IF sense of way.

My next game is going to be choice-based, not parser-based.

This game has consumed my life.

But I've made a map now and tomorrow I will start figuring out routes and demanding answers. The kind that don't lead to even more questions...I hope...

Reading two dossiers and two microfilms has caused more confusion than anything..
