IFComp 2011
Just as important as the amount of games entered is the placing. Since 2005 ADRIFT games had either been near the top ten or in it.

The games are supposed to be judged on the first two hours of play. The games definately have to be super polished and well-tested but ADRIFT entries should be even better than this.

Is definitely short. Also a really atypical IF. Great writing and very funny tho'.
Well, also anything by James Webb and Robert Street are worth playing.
I really liked Requiem by Mr Whyld but it did less well than I expected at the time.
and of course any of my stuff is always brilliant.

Finishable in 2 hours or less is generally what the comp is aimed at. Personally, I prefer longer games but maybe that's just me.DCBSupafly wrote:Is there an expected size/length to a game that would be suitable for this? Obviously it should be super polished and well-tested, but beyond that does the scope of the adventure matter?

Re: IFComp 2011
Post from David Whyld missed from conversion:
I hope no one enters a V5 game. It's still in beta and I'd be very surprised if any of the people judging the comp (ADRIFT users notwithstanding) have used V5. There's nothing more likely to discourage you playing a game for the comp than downloading it and discovering it won't work.
Re: IFComp 2011
When is the IF Comp 2011 ?
"RtC" is a V.5 game, and although there are a few things that needs to be ironed out (Beta testers, please) I am confindent that it should be ok to play it when the time comes to submit it.
I do agree with David, though, and that is why I didn't enter the Spring Thing 2011. Submitting a game no matter how good or interesting will do more harm than good it the platform isn't working properly.
