Games Created Over the Years

I had a quick count of ADRIFT games created over the years by version, as listed on my Delron ADRIFT games page.

It does include AIF games but doesn't include any that I haven't got a creation year for (12 games).

I think you could say we have seen a bit of a decline in ADRIFT games this year - unless of course we get a late flurry of creations.

I think it's interesting to see that as many games were written with V5 in 2013 (3) as were written with V3.9 in 2011, over a decade after it first came out, and twice as many V4 games came out in 2012 as V5 games in 2013.

I wonder if 2014 will be the first year since 1998 when there aren't any ADRIFT games released?

That will not happen. My re-write of "The Axe of Kolt" is being playtested at the moment and will be released in 2014.

Zohaa, you seem to have necroed a year old thread. Though it's not like the situation has changed significantly from this time last year, of course, so I guess everything said still applies.

Pretty depressing statistics...seems like everything started going downhill after 2004 or so. Which was the year I joined. Huh.

I'd be all for it if we could manage to get enough people interested. That was actually the main reason I dropped by just now, I wanted to see if there was any Ectocomp games/discussion. (Then I was like, 'oh, right, I forgot, that other forum stole it.' )

Meanwhile, I missed the 'sometime in October' release date for a smallish project I'm working on, but there's still hope it'll see the light sometime this year. I'm basically only able to really sit down and spend quality time with my computer on Sundays though and it's such a headache trying to remember what I was in the middle of trying to implement and just where I left off every time.

Though keeping in mind the holidays right around the corner, I'd advise either a generous deadline or something that lets us write small games.

If for whatever reason you're having trouble thinking of something, I'll just toss in a random idea: I've benen thinking it might be fun to see what could be done with just 'adrift' as the theme. (as in adrift at sea). I guess that image rthat loads up with the developer is part of the inspiration there...
