Cyberpunk styled adventure

Postby RenatoDias » Fri Feb 07, 2020 10:46 pm

I'm making a cyberpunk-esque text adventure in ADRIFT 5. And I hope to make it to the end.

Synopsys:
After a heist gone wrong, the main character decides to leave the city he was living in and try a more quiet life. Three years later, he returns to find his home city totally changed. Now, he sets his objective to get back into this life and make things better for himself.

Features:
->More than 30 main missions.
->More than 50 side quests.
->Missions that range from investigations, to rescues, to bomb defusal, to property invasion and, fetch missions.
->Discover the story behind what happened during the storyline.
->Buy a home, and stakes at businesses.
->Money system.
->Time system with full 24 hours(12 turns per hour) clock and minutes counter.
->A small cyberpunk city with five levels.
->A good cast of characters, normal humans and a few machines, along with bio-engineered humans(replicants).
->AI that controls schedules, opening and closing doors and gates, etc.

I really hope you finish it. In case you find that 80 missions+quests is too much if you want to ever finish your game (very likely), I hope you will reduce it significantly but still finish it since it could be a good game even with only a few missions/quests.

I'll scale it down if I need to. For the moment, this is the plan.

Hello, Lyricasylum.
Glad you would.
Demo with the first arc planned to be ready soon. Some paths and parts will not be available on it, though, such as some homes and the realty system.

Thanks for the support to you and everyone.

Sorry for doubleposting. but, since I did the first game mission, I encountered a bug. I have the last mission task to add 250 to the money variable. But, it doesn't add the money until the player types "out" and presses enter(the end of the mission happens in a bar, thus the "out"). Any way I can fix it?

It is very hard to know without looking at your game in the Developer. It could be that you have set the last mission task to "Display completion message BEFORE executing actions". If you still are having problems, try to reproduce the bug in a small example-file and then upload the taf-file to the forum.

Strange, I can't seem to replicate it on a example file. But it happens on the project file.

Also, I'm in trouble now. I had 8 missions on the first arc done, but 3 of them were just filling slots, like getting a blue print, making a weapon and investigating deeper.
I decided to cut missions 5, 6 and 7 and condense 5 and 6 into 4(the one where you get the weapon disc) and made the disc into a blueprint data disc. Also, the mission would only be complete if you crafted the blueprinted weapon.
So, now I have 3 extra slots for missions and don't know what else to do for now in regards to that.
I want to close this arc before I move on to the next.
That's why I didn't release the demo yet.

PS: I'll leave this thread for talking, you can see updates on my devblog which is in my signature.
