Re: Combi-Lib 4.3(beta) ready for testing

Damned it! Will you take a break, please? :x ( )
I've just installed the last edition you made and transferred all my locations, objects, etc. and now you're releasing a new version?
Seriously. This ought to remove at least 25 points from your score. :P

Taking an object

If I have an object inside an open container and I want to make a specific task overriding the general task. Does it matter whether I override general task: Take object from location, or take object from object?

How do I avoid stripping when player uses put all in object?

I have made specific tasks overriding the general remove task hoping to avoid the player to be able to take off his/her clothes. (Somebody is bound to try it.) It works for the various pieces of clothing if the player uses the command >remove, but if s/he comes across a container and uses >put all i...

Sir Clive Sinclair dies at aged 81

:( Just found out that Sir Clive Sinclair the inventer of, amongst other things, the Spectrum 48K computer died last month. I can say without a doubt that he has had an enormous impact on my life and I owe him a ton of gratitude. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/sep/16/home-computing-pion...

It puzzles me ;-)

I have just thought of something. If you have a room with a door, ie. a kitchen, and you wish to leave the room but the door is either locked or closed. Then you will typically >unlock / open door. But if the room is a cage which has a door. Then you'd expect to be able to use >unlock / open cage. W...

Re: Unlock/lock restrictions - mini-poll [Combined Library]

I guess this also means that if the key is on a table or in the lock, that is also fine. I think this corresponds to the restriction "object must be visible". Not necessarily. But if I, as a player, is carrying the key to a lock in the inside pocket of my jacket and come across the lock that needs ...

Re: Unlock/lock restrictions - mini-poll [Combined Library]

I would like that the object to unlock the passage, whatever it is, should be in players possession. Meaning I don't care where it is as long as the player has free access to it. If it's in players possession, it would be natural that the player automatically takes it out if s/he wants to unlock %ob...

Re: Unlock and lock restrictions

So if I translate your response to something practical, I guess you only want the restriction that the key must be visible? You can then always override the general tasks when you need stricter restrictions, such as the key must not be held by another character etc. Or could you propose a set of re...

Re: Unlock and lock restrictions

Go ahead Denk. It's a good idea. Seems crazy to me that the player should take the key from the keyhole only to have to virtually put it back in before being able to lock the door. If the key is inside a pocket of a piece of clothing the player is wearing, it should be considered available to the pl...

Re: IFComp 2021?

I'm going for the parser comp next year. If it doesn't fly, well, then I'll go with the IF Comp 2022.
I thought that Lazzah had a game ready for the IF Comp. this year. Or has it already been released?
