Re: Combi-Lib 4.3(beta) ready for testing

Damned it! Will you take a break, please? :x ( ) I've just installed the last edition you made and transferred all my locations, objects, etc. and now you're releasing a new version? Seriously. This ought to remove at least 25 points from your score. :P I could of course have waited several ...

Re: Sir Clive Sinclair dies at aged 81

Actually, the ZX Spectrum is still hot ;) A brand new 3-part adventure was released for it recently by Gareth Pitchford. It is called Dream Walker (no kidding!). I just completed it, it was pretty good! I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. You can read about the game and download it here: http://www.8b...

Combi-Lib 4.3(beta) ready for testing

I have fixed the known problems with "put objects on/in others" and "Remove before put", so here is the beta-version of Combi-Lib 4.3:

Combi-Lib-4-3(beta6).taf
(46.16 KiB) Downloaded 7 times
The more you test this beta-version, the less is the risk that bugs will be present when it is officially released. Thanks :Thanks:

Re: Virus problem still around

Hi CaptainHomer, This is a "false positive" which unfortunately is normal. When this happens, the antivirus-software always claims it knows the name of the virus but there is no virus. It is recommended to exclude ADRIFT folders and/or files from being processed. If you are using Windows 10 and the ...

Re: How do I avoid stripping when player uses put all in object?

I guess without using the Combi-Library, you could just have an overriding task with one of its restrictions; objects must not be worn by player. I haven't tried this, just saying off the top of my head. The problem is the same no matter which of the libraries you are using (Campbell's, saabie's or...

Re: Sir Clive Sinclair dies at aged 81

I hope i don't get roasted...But i never owned a Speccy, let alone have used one..... Neither did I but for someone who like text adventures it is never too late. I have been using the excellent FUSE-emulator for some time and this week I also installed a Spectrum Next emulator so I can play all th...

Yes, then you must use "take object from object".

Re: PUT ALL problem

Hi Larry, there are at least two problems here: 1st problem: In my current WIP there is a container - an aluminium case - which has two objects inside it, a small drone and a control console. There is a vehicle with a cargo bed (another container) - I used "bed" instead of compartment as it is easie...

Re: How do I avoid stripping when player uses put all in object?

I have made specific tasks overriding the general remove task hoping to avoid the player to be able to take off his/her clothes. (Somebody is bound to try it.) It works for the various pieces of clothing if the player uses the command >remove, but if s/he comes across a container and uses >put all ...

Combi-Lib 4.2 Released

Combi-Lib 4.2 has just been released. Except for a typo, there were practically no changes compared to the latest beta-version (Combi-Lib 4.2(beta3)). The files can be found here: https://www.adrift.co/game/1642 As usual, please be careful if you apply the amf-file as a library, as it may ruin your ...

Re: Sir Clive Sinclair dies at aged 81

In Denmark almost no one had a Spectrum (I guess P/o was the exception ;) ), most had a Commodore 64 until the Amiga 500 came along. But I have since come to realize how important the Spectrum computers were to interactive fiction. Yes, there are probably a lot of Infocom fans outside the UK who don...

Re: Unlock/lock restrictions

I have tried to meet everyone's expectation in the attached demo below. [NB: I have removed the poll as there wasn't much interest] If you type UNLOCK DOOR WITH KEY then the player character will take the key if possible and then unlock the door. However, I realised that there is a big difference be...
