TESTING TESTING

Post by P/o Prune »

This is just a test to see if it's possible to write new topics.

One minute ago, I couldn't reply on this post. Logged out, restarted the browser and logged in again, hope that helps. Ideas are very welcome.
EDIT: I don't want to flood the forum with new test posts, so I am just testing if I can edit one of my own posts. Here are my initial conclusions: Each time I want to make a new post, I must:
1. Log out from ADRIFT and close down the chrome browser
2. Reopen the chrome browser
3. Log in on the ADRIFT site.
Now, I can make exactly one post and I cannot "preview" it first, cause then it will not be submitted when I click submit. If I want to make two posts, I have to start over after the first post, i.e. log out, shut down the browser etc. And I am not even sure this procedure always works.

UPDATE:
I did some more testing. It turns out, that I don't have to log out but sometimes I have to click "submit" or "preview" 4 times before it works. And each time I click "submit" or "preview", the text disappears, so unless I copied the text before clicking "submit" or "preview", the text I wrote has been lost.

Now I know this, so I will always copy the text I wrote, before hitting "submit" or "preview". If it is only me that has this problem, I guess it is not such a big deal, but if more people experience this, I guess we need to find a better solution.

Thanks for posting, Lazzah. I did some more testing to figure out the problem.

I had the suspicion that it might have to do with my profile, so I tried to login on my Android phone and see if there were any problems (I almost never do that because it isn't practical). Everything worked flawlessly. And I forced my phone to use the same internet connection as my laptop, so I can't blame the internet connection and I can't blame my ADRIFT profile.

So unless the problem is gone (looks like Campbell or Finn has been playing around with at least the logo in the top left corner saying "phpBB forum software" - I think it used to say ADRIFT), it must have something to do with my laptop, as I tried with both the Chrome browser, Windows Edge and Internet Explorer.

I am curious to see how many times I must submit this post before it works...
* Clicked preview 3 times before it worked (text disappears every time).
* Clicked submit 2 time without success. Hopefully it works now...

Just a quick reply using Firefox.

Denk, the top Left logo on my page says "Adrift Home Page" and links to www.adrift.co

edit. All posted OK as expected.

Thanks. I have been playing around with the board styles to fix my problem. It seems that if I change the board styles (forum page, not www.adrift.co) to anything else than "Prosilver Special Edition", the small picture in the top left of an IF game screen (forum.adrift.co and not www.adrift.co) is replaced with the phpBB logo. So I realize that I caused the logo to change. However, it has no influence on my problem, unfortunately.
