Not built in, but you could certainly do something with a task to turn verbose on/off, and alternative descriptions.

I wouldn't have capitalized all the directions. It is supposed to resemble prose, not a screenplay, where every prop is in caps. At least in ADRIFT, there is the option to colorize fonts so the directions can be in a different color than the rest of the text, which helps them to stand out without being so overwhelming.
