Character Stats and Levels - Possible?

Hello I'm extremely new to Adrift, as in i have only just come across it today. It looks like a very fun and creative way to make a game. (I especially love that it can display images for everything and also play sounds)

But strait to my question. I took a quick poke at the developer program and found it very user friendly. However I would like to know if there is any possibility to add in character stats. Such as life, hunger, stamina. Along with aspects for minor combat.

Example:
Player as 100 life, player confronts wild dog. Is bitten, player is reduced by 10 life points. At 0 life points player pass's out or dies.

I am certain something like this must be possible, but i am unsure how to go about it. It would be amazing if there was an ability to add more of an RPG element to the character as well. (a poor mans DnD). If any of this is possible please let me know, links to tutorials or examples would be awesome.

My experience has been that randomized combat in in IF rarely comes out well under any authoring system.

If you're going to try doing RPG combat anyway, be sure to use ADRIFT 5 over ADRIFT 4; the ability to add individual properties to characters / objects will be very important.

First, welcome to the world of ADRIFT! Good to have another Drifter.

I have to agree with ralphmerridew, IF and random combat do not really mix. Actually, I'm not sure they really should.

Most these could be handled by variables. If you want to look at guides etc have a look at the threads pinned to the top of this discussion area (Help and Reference). The pinned threads have links to loads of helpful stuff. Also my game Target might interest you it has lots of things which are random at the start of the game - uses arrays and variables.
