Argh, two already? You guys are making me feel even worse.

I don't suppose we could get just a teensy little extension? Till the end of the 1st so we'd have Sunday too?

I know I said the 31st, but taking into account the various timezones etc. I can't see why we shouldn't stretch it a little...
(and I'm not doing this because we're desperately short of games, you know... )

Ok, the date has finally arrived. January 31st. +/- 1 (Lumin  )

I'm a Little disappointed that only two games have been submitted so far. We've had quite a few newcomers lately and I had imagined (from the questions they have posted in the forum) that they would at least be able to cook up a short game within a month.

Anyways, if there are people out there who has game/s ready here's the address to send them to:

Just put comp entry in the header. :claps: Come on.. Let's keep Adrift alive.

I don't know why it's surprising there are so few entries. When was the last time an ADRIFT comp had a lot of entries?

In retrospect maybe having such strict limits was a bad idea, even though I know I'm the one who originally. I was just thinking of how the Ectocomp and various one room comps and things like alsnpk's Odd Comp always seeming to attract more attention than the larger ones.

I got a friend to register here and she's shown some interest in writing games and did see this thread, but she was having a hard time working with the room limit. The other new people may have had similar issues.

As for my own game...still up in the air about that, unfortunately. It's a small enough game and I've made enough progress to know it won't take too long to finish, but whether it's in time for the deadline or not depends on whether I can still get the creative parts of my brain to work properly once I get home.

...I think it might be that entering comps is just a bad idea for me in general, I'm so much happier just doing my Zen thing where I work on games just because I feel like it and don't stress when I have to put them aside for real life, but I really really wanted to contribute to this one.

I'll do my best to have mine in by tonight. It might be after midnight where you are but it should be before midnight in the eastern US.

Edit: I sent it in!

So Lazzah entered - who wrote Algernon's Conundrum and The Heritage. Can we download the latter from anywhere?

Good heavens - Campbell's back! :claps: Lyricasylum wrote Algernon's Conundrum and The Heritage was P.O.Prune's effort... unfortunately it was bugged and unwinnable so he pulled it. Very sad coz it was a good effort otherwise. You could hardly call my entry "a game", it was something I knocked up in a couple of hours after being inspired by the news that Beagle 2 HAD landed on Mars. But 2 people voted for it, for which I am very grateful. I might even turn it into a proper game one of these days.

Thanks Campbell...
R2T1 (and Lazzah) had a look at my game and have sent me a corrected version. So I do plan on releasing a winning copy of it. If for no other reason than to show people that games are still being made :yeah:

Hi Campbell,

I edited my game with the storyline, I hope that's OK?

Of course. I just let the uploader pick out the details from the game, so it mustn't have got the summary for some reason.
